Miss Canada International 1995
Catherine Dunn - Orillia, Ontario
Being the first MCI, Catherine, her family, and the MCI Team worked hard raising funds, booking appearances, and traveling with her. Catherine assisted such charities as The Hospital for Sick Children in their Miracles in Motion Step-A-Thon and their CTV Telethon. She participated in a Polar Bear Dip for the Orillia Hospital in January, hosted the Chedoke McMaster Hospital Telethon on Mother's Day, a bed pan race for Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie and a Ski-A-Thon for Canadian Cancer Society. Catherine also rode a bike down the Don Valley Parkway in Toronto for Heart and Stroke and took part in many walk-a-thons. She rode the big bike for Heart and Stroke and appeared in many dunk tanks to raise funds. She took part in many parades, Remembrance Day Ceremonies in Ottawa, and attended the opening of Planet Hollywood in Toronto.
Catherine met such celebrities as Olympic Medalist Elvis Stojko, Diane Keefer (North of 60), Paul Gross (Due South), Sonya Smith (Traders), cast of Road to Avonlea, Demi Moore, Bruce Willis, Grandpa Munster and Dennis Weaver (Macleod).
She attended the Gemini Awards, tossed the coin at a Toronto Argos Game, and was a guest of the Ottawa Senators. Catherine attended the Calgary Stampede as a VIP. She was a very hard working MCI and made the people of Canada proud as their ambassador. Catherine was the image of what Miss Canada International truly is and set the bar high for her successors.
Catherine represented Canada at the Miss International Pageant in California and returned home with swimsuit and photogenic award.
