Lorenza is always helping people. Her message in promoting wellness, good health
and beauty from within is something she was actively involved in as MCI 2003 and
she continues to promote this today. She lives by her motto:
“Live for today for the past is gone, to create a
path that will lead to your future.
Think positive, follow your heart and don’t let anyone tell you different…your
dreams will come true. First you must set your goals…then set out to achieve
them!”
As Miss Canada International 2003 Lorenza traveled across Canada promoting tourism, assisted charities and was and still is a role model for the youth of today. She visited many schools, hospitals, senior’s homes, promoted sponsors of MCI, met many mayors, visited with over 5,000 troops of our Canadian Military and took part in and also hosted many special events across Canada.
These paragraphs were taken from her MCI 2003 Retiring Speech, August 16th 2003
“…I believe things happen in life for a reason. My experience as Miss Canada International has been an amazing one. It taught me to be ready for anything. Take everyday and cherish it as the world is changing day by day and you never know what tomorrow holds.
Being Miss Canada International is a unique and demanding full time job. It is an honour to wear the crown. You must be dedicated and determined for the challenge!
Vanessa, the first national “Teen” title holder from Toronto and myself, the first national title holder from Vancouver, were fortunate to attend many functions together. Whether it was racing down a mountain on a bedpan to raise money for charity (she won that race), racing down a hill in a Soap Box (I won this race), meeting Wiarton Willie - Canada’s official groundhog on Groundhog Day, taking part in the St. Patrick’s Day parade in Montreal and visiting the only Shriners´ Hospital in Canada we had fun and were a great team!
I traveled to 6 Provinces, 2 States and visited over 80 cities and towns. I flew on at least 16 airplanes, took 4 3-hour ferry rides and was on a 23 hour cruise. I stayed at 89 different accommodations from people's homes, hotels and bed and breakfasts. I could never forget my experience as a Soldier with over 5,000 troops in Wainwright Alberta for the training of “Exercise Resolute Warrior”, and my camping experience with over 4,000 girls guides ages 4 –15, which brings me to my next point. My year was one of firsts!
First time I ever went fishing which was in Sussex-New Brunswick, first time I ever ate lobster ice cream from Bar Harbor-Maine, 1st time camping-experiencing life as a girl guide and I was a soldier for a day. 1st time horseback riding, bedpan racing, soap box derby racing and I even ate rations while at the military and believe it or not it wasn't that bad. After all that is what being Miss Canada International is all about. New experiences and I loved every part of it. All I wanted to do this year was give my heart out to those who wished to accept it and put a smile on people's faces just as I answered my final question at the pageant last year. I am proud to know I accomplished that this year while learning all about our incredible country.
I leave you with these thoughts:
Everyday
you are faced with a choice. Each choice you make will lead to a different path
in your life.
It's up to you to chose the correct path but learn from your mistakes along the
way.
Everyday
you must learn something new and use that for your future success. As Miss
Canada
International 2003 I encourage you to set, strive and achieve your goals! ....”

Message To the Delegates
I can't put into words all the emotions that will run through your head being crowned "Miss Canada International". My experience has been an amazing one. It taught me to be ready for anything. Take everyday and cherish it as the world is changing day by day and you never know what tomorrow holds. You must learn from everything. Have no regrets! Take each event you attend or appearances you make and turn it into a memory. A memory that will last a life time! There are not very many women who get this opportunity of traveling around Canada and meeting amazing people along the way while assisting charities and being a rile model for today's youth. Hold the title with grace and respect. Remember it is an honour to wear the crown.Being Miss Canada International is a unique and demanding full time job. You must be dedicated and determined for this challenge. There may be days when you feel tired, sick or just want some quality time to yourself but you must remember you are an ambassador of Canada You are always being watched. People look up to you and you can never let them down. They are you r support. For some, you may be their angel of hope to get through the next few months of a survival battle. For others you may be what they need for a little motivation,. My goal was to help people achieve their goals... "the first step is to set your goal...the second step is to achieve it". I have achieved that and pass on to you the words I live by...my quote,
"Live for today, for the past is gone to create a path which will lead you to your future. Think positive, follow your heart and don't let anyone tell you different, your dreams WILL come true!"
All of you here this week will feel nervous, excited, and maybe even a little bit overwhelmed. You are all winners! Don't forget that when this week is over. You are each representing a part of our beautiful country, but only one of you will walk away with the title of Miss Canada International. Be proud of who you are and of your achievements here to date. Your family and friends love you for who you are. A piece of advice I can give all of you for this week...Be Yourself! Make sure you get plenty fo sleep before arriving because you will have an extremely busy schedule, but most of all have fun and don't forget to smile!!

Miss Canada International 2003
We asked
Lorenza, what are you doing now?
Recently, I received a diploma in “Broadcasting for Performing
Arts” and am hoping to pursue a career in this industry!
A few events I have hosted across Canada are:
· Wish Upon a Star, An Evening of Hope – BC Cancer Fundraiser
· Shaw TV – Tri Cities Community Events
· Shaw TV – Redbull Soap Box Derby
· Pageants – Miss BC, MCI 2006, MCI 2007, MCI 2008
· Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame Ceremonies, Co-Hosted Introduction Dinner with Gemini award winner Sean McCann
· Co-Hosted on radio stations
· Fraser Valley “Canadian Idol”
· Fashion Shows
I have been involved in Figure skating for over 15 years and am a Skate Canada coach. I love teaching children and motivating them. Helping them achieve their goals is a rewarding accomplishment.
I enjoy rollerblading, spending time with my dog TJ, swimming, skiing, skating, auditioning for TV and commercials, traveling, and emceeing events.
I also choreograph and/or Coordinate:
· Ice Shows
· Fashion Shows
· Pageants
· Corporate Events
Why take part in the Pageant?
There are different pageants out there and if you enjoy meeting new people, having fun and want a boost of confidence then this pageant is for you. Learn from the workshops; enjoy the choreography (even if you’ve been in rehearsal for a few hours…it pays off in the end production), take lots of pictures and sleep when you have the opportunity.
Like I have said before, this is a job and it is not suitable for everyone. The goal is to find the “best” candidate for the position. Although there is and can only be one winner, you must remember “YOU” have worked hard to get to this point and are still an ambassador in your own city, town or province. Leave the pageant with positive memories and continue to be a role model and get active within your community.
Canada truly is a beautiful country and I was fortunate enough to see it, have amazing experiences and am thankful to all my sponsors who made it possible. You read what my year was about and although every girl’s year is “different” what you put into your year is what you’ll get out of it! Putting a smile on someone’s face is sometimes the most rewarding feeling. I am blessed to have my health, functional limbs and a family that loves me but not everyone is as fortunate. If you want to make a difference big or small…I mean truly care to make a difference then this pageant is for you.
Warmest Wishes,
Lorenza
